Red Barn Wedding Package

 

The Shaker design of this rustic dairy barn made it possible to load the upper half of the barn with loose hay to feed 40 dairy cows through the winter.  Those levels now, the 3rd floor and the "high drive", are used for beautiful and memorable events.  A grassy road behind the barn provides access to the high drive and a large open meadow for a ceremony, lawn games and cocktail hour and bonfire.  Beautiful ceremonies have been held inside on the high drive as well.  Ceremonies can also be held inside the smaller white barn or outside on its deck. Receptions for 80 to 150 guests are hosted on the third floor.  We welcome you to bring your own caterer, but do require they make a site visit if they have not been here before.

We make your planning as stress free and easy as possible by including most of the amenities that you will need. The weekend package includes:

  • Exclusive two-day use of the grounds and barns (12:00 Friday to 12:00 Sunday)
  • Custom made farm tables (18)
  • Natural wood padded folding chairs (150)
  • Indoor sound systems including wireless microphone
  • Fixed indoor lighting including dimmable café lights and accent lighting
  • Three large ceiling fans and two effective reception level fans
  • Benches for ceremony for up to 100 guests (wood, painted white)
  • Day-of lunch provided in the Inn for up to 14 guests
  • Space for hair and make-up (typically the dining room in the Inn.)
  • Indoor and outdoor catering prep area with 2 tables, 3 serving trays with stands and access to potable water and electricity
  • Two 8' buffet tables
  • Two 6' bar tables
  • Beverage station with three glass urns and stand
  • Very cool cake table. (Used to be a work bench)
  • On-site parking and space for shuttle drop
  • Corn-hole game (we made it)
  • Torches for walkway lighting
  • Chalk board (can be used for whatever message you want to deliver)
  • Signage for event parking
  • Bonfire (weather dependent)
  • On-site coordination with outside vendors
  • Two clean white portable restrooms (and optional restroom trailer at additional charge).

Additional fun items can be added such as popcorn machine, s'more package (handmade marshmallows), coffee service, flameless pillar candles (3 sizes and nice looking), outdoor sound system, flowers and decorations.  Most couples pull together a team of friends and family to clean after the event, but we are happy to provide cleaning service for you. We are a registered Green Hotel and discouragenon-recyclable or non-reusable place settings.

The 2018 weekend package price from the 2nd weekend in June to before Labor Day weekend, is $7,300 (plus 10% VT tax).  The base package price for weddings from Labor Day weekend through Columbus Day weekend is $8,300.  We are unable to host events after Columbus Day weekend. Package pricing for 2019 will be $8,300 and $9,300.  During certain weekends, we can consider providing a one-day 12-hour package for $5,000.

You are welcome to supply your own alcohol with a one day event insurance policy.   We require certified insured bartenders and are happy to help you secure your bartending service starting at $120/hour for up to 100 guests. Depending on your bar tending needs additional bartenders and time may be required.

It is highly recommend that a day of coordinator or wedding planner be involved.  Please go to Wedding Planning and Day of Coordination on this website for information about the gal we work with and who is very familiar with what we do here as well the resources in this area.

To honor our permit and respect our neighbors, last call is at 10:00 pm, amplified music must end at 10:30 pm, and all guests that are not staying at the inn must depart by 11:00 pm.

Your weekend can be reserved with a 50% non-refundable site fee deposit, 50% lodging deposit that is refundable (less service charge) up to 14 days prior to scheduled arrival, and 25% deposit for any outside rental items.  Due our limited number of available weekends, a non-refundable site fee balance and 50% lodging deposit are due 180 days prior to the event.  Although two-night booking of the seven-room bed and breakfast inn is required, it is common for us to make reservations and collect payment from the guests that you direct to us and we can help you with room assignments.  We can also recommend a range of nearby lodging and transportation options for your guests.
